Travus T. Hipp Morning News & Commentary: The Post Office... As Seen Generations Removed From A Bad Decision
May 15 2012
A Synopsis Of This Morning's News...
H/t to ChrisM my MP3Angel for supplying the audio files.
«o» The West African country of Mali is about to
see the expiration of it's interim government and is desperately attempting to cobble together something resembling a legitimate democratic government.
«o» The US Postal Service is canceling it's planned closure of six hundred facilities
around America due to popular reaction aimed at elected officials in regard to funding cuts. The solution will OF COURSE be felt by the workers as there will be 'pay cuts'. Details about those pay cuts follow, and more on this topic in the commentary.
«o» The Senate WILL take up the question of reauthorizing the Export-Import bank, a very important institution in US foreign trade.
The Democrats had to compromise on allowing five amendments to the bill to prevent a filibuster by the Republicans. No word on what amendments were allowed, but we're bound to find out shortly, because the deadline for the bank's authorization is looming.
«o» Iran has executed the person accused of assassinating one of their nuclear scientists.
They claimed the deceased was a professional assassin and an Israeli agent.
«o» With a deadline of tomorrow looming Greece has failed to pull together a coalition government.
If there is no coalition it would force a new election at least a month away and all bets would be off on whether the country can remain in the European Union.

Earlier this morning yours truly wrote:
Today's News Synopsis and the Commentary will be delayed by an hour or two (or three but hopefully before noon pdt). Yours truly goes to court this morning to reset a date for a court trial over a $100 dollar pot ticket after the court "Mistakenly" declared me Missing In Action for a 1:30pm April 20 trial... on that day's 10am docket.VINDICATION! More in the Other News tomorrow morning
Meanwhile, there is other good news generated by the local court system's incompentence:
Alex Darocy, photojournalist and Bradley Stuart of Santa Cruz IndyBay (Indymedia) have
By the time I go to trial I will have appeared, or attempted to appear in court FIVE TIMES... Over a $100 pot ticket.
Defrauding the taxpayer is NEVER "mistaken" and given the time and court scheduling data I most likely could verify that institutionally criminal behavior. I intend to tell the judge that when I appear.
just had their charges of criminal trespass and felony vandalism dismissed by a Santa Cruz Superior Court judge. The charges arose from 75 River Street abandoned bank squat which took place in solidarity with #OccupySantaCruz late last year.
